From a business perspective, one of the things that Lindsay and I have really come to believe in is the power of passive income.
Passive income, specifically passive income through affiliate marketing, has really helped us take our monetization game to the next level. For example, with Pinch of Yum, when we recommend products that we love and link to those products as an affiliate, we are able to earn passive income from the referral sales.
This monetization strategy is different than advertising and sponsorships, which can fluctuate from quarter to quarter, month to month, and even week to week. The passive income we earn as affiliates for our favorite products and services can be more consistent and predictable.
One of the things we love about Food Blogger Pro is the fact that we’re able to offer the benefits of passive income to our members through the FBP affiliate program (more on that in a bit!), but we noticed that oftentimes affiliates would sign up for the program and not really know the most effective way to promote FBP to their readers.
We knew that if the affiliate program was really going to grow into a strong program that we needed to bring someone in that could focus on supporting, encouraging, and educating the FBP affiliate community.
Which is why we’re excited to introduce you to Jasmine Lukuku, the new Food Blogger Pro Affiliate Program Manager. Many of you probably know Jasmine from the community forum, but for those of you that don’t, I’m going to pass it off to Jasmine so she can introduce herself and tell you a little bit about the FBP affiliate program.
Introducing Jasmine
Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to be part of the Food Blogger Pro team. I’ve been a member of FBP for over a year. During that time, I’ve been singing the praises of FBP to everyone who would listen. That is why I’m excited to come on board as Affiliate Program Manager. This position allows me to work with all of you as we grow the FBP community.
Do you know about the Food Blogger Pro affiliate program? If you are already an affiliate, you get a high-five! If you aren’t an affiliate yet, let me explain how it works.
The affiliate program is an opportunity to earn money by referring new members to Food Blogger Pro. Every time a new member enrolls through your affiliate link, you receive a 20% recurring commission. That means you will get a 20% commission for EVERY month they remain a member.
Not only that, but the commission payout is tiered, meaning the payout percentage increases as the number of transactions goes up (see below). That can really add up!
Once you get over 20 active members that have signed up using your affiliate link you’ll be earning $11.60 a month per membership (that’s recurring for the lifetime of the member). So, if an affiliate has 20 active members as a part of FBP they’ll earn $232/month, or $2,784 a year.
My job as the Affiliate Program Manager is to support you in any way I can. If you need help with a technical issue, you can contact me. If you want to brainstorm ideas on how to maximize your affiliate income, email me. If you have any tips to share with the rest of the affiliate community, I want to hear them. Together, we can become champion affiliates poised for world domination! Whooo hooo!
For those who have not applied to the FBP affiliate program, here are the simple steps.
- Create your account on ShareASale: http://www.shareasale.com/shareasale.cfm?merchantID=45785
- Apply for the Food Blogger Pro affiliate program. We manually approve or decline each application. We do our best to get back to you within 24–48 hours.
- Use your affiliate link when you tell others about Food Blogger Pro. The affiliates who see the highest number of referral sales are those who share personal stories about why they love being a part of the FBP community.
I’ll be sending you emails from time to time and I’d love to hear back from you. You can reach me at [email protected] or @theblenderist on Twitter. You can also find me in the community forums, so be sure to say hi!
Woo hoo!!! Congrats Jasmine! 🙂 I’m honored to be part of the FBP team with you.
Thanks Beth! I’m super excited!
Okay how am I not an affiliate for this yet!
